Personal Profile
During his twenty years of practice, Bruce A. Hoffer has taken every opportunity to refine his advocacy skills and enhance his intimate knowledge of the law. Mr. Hoffer's drive to be the best in the legal profession has been rewarded with many courtroom victories. Nothing replaces personal service, and he strives for the highest degree of professionalism in his relationships with both clients and colleagues.

Professional Credits
He is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Fifth Circuit Bar Association, Jefferson County Bar Association, Hardin County Bar Association, and the Jefferson County Criminal Defense Bar Association. He also belongs to the Texas Defense Criminal Law Association, the Crime Victims Committee of the Texas State Bar, and the State Bar Committee of Legal Representatives of People on Death Row. Mr. Hoffer has taught classes at Lamar University and is an active member of the Texas College of the State Bar.

His position as a teacher and his success as a lawyer comes in part from his time spent as Chief of Felony Prosecutions for Jefferson County. For over eight years, he served in this capacity while also prosecuting white-collar crimes in the Federal Court system.

He has been certified as a **Specialist in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
**To be certified as a Specialist, an attorney must be licensed for at least 5 years with three years of practice in the specialty; must devote more than 35% of their practice to a given field of specialty; demonstrate substantial involvement; attend continuing legal education seminars; obtain the approval of judges and colleagues and pass a written examination. Only about 10% of Texas attorneys are board certified.

While Mr. Hoffer has an established criminal law practice, he is fast becoming one of the best-known family law attorneys in the area. He is adept and experienced in divorce, adoption, child custody and visitation, and child support. Because he has three children of his own, Mr. Hoffer understands the concerns of his family law clients.
